Borbála Borsos – Hungary

1. Tell us more about yourself.
Hey! I’m Borbála Borsos (Bob), a 30 years old mom of three from Veresegyház, Hungary. Besides my kids (aged 6, 4, and 1), I’m actively working as a babywearing consultant & photographer; also host local babywearing meets & organize wrap & carrier travellings.

2. Why/How did you decide to start babywearing?
I’ve purchased my first wrap before my first child was born, but only started wearing her when she was 3 months old. I had a terrible birth experience, and were afraid to hurt her while wearing her before this age… Babywearing helped me work through our trauma, and my PTSD, and gave us the freedom of leave the flat we lived in. After a short period of “oh my god, this is great” I’ve turned a babywearing geek for life 😀

3. Is babywearing a common thing in your country? What do people think about it?
In Hungary we have a great babywearing community. Hungarian moms are often wearing their babies, and we even have superb baby carrier brands, creating really high quality wraps & carriers. Relatively lots of babywearing consultants works in this region, we have a lot local babywearing meeting points, babywearing latin fitness classes, babywearing hiking groups, conferences & WAHM markets; friendships has made through babywearing, and it’s simply changed lots of us life.

4. What is your favorite carrier?
Hmmmm, that’s a hard question 😀 I’ve tried beyond 100 wraps & carriers, and I can fall in love very easily. I mostly use full buckle carrier recently on my workdays (I’m photographing with my littlest on my back), and I grab my SweetBerry most times (but I’m writing this with a Be Lenka buckle carrier on my baby (: ).

5. Do you have a favorite carry?
Kangaroo carry with newborn & rucksack with Goddess finish with any ages.

6. Did you feel any difficulties in your babywearing journey?
Yes… When I’ve started it almost 6 years ago, it was not a very common thing & I didn’t even know about babywearing consultants. I had to fight my battles with anxiety, and negative feedbacks. But here I am now (:

7. What advice would you give to new parents?
If you are unsure, seek for help! <3 Babywearing is a very powerful thing, with lots of opportunities, and if you find your way in this world, it can change lots of things (:
